Occupational health services for employees

Pihlajalinna Occupational Health takes care of employees both remotely and in person.

How to use occupational health services

Below you’ll find instructions on how to use Pihlajalinna's occupational health services. If needed, your employer can always provide additional information.

Check with your employer first which of the following booking options are available under your occupational health agreement. You can find your designated service channels in the occupational health information provided by your employer.

  • Online booking: At many workplaces, you can book most occupational health appointments (e.g. occupational health nurse, laboratory tests and vaccinations) directly via online booking. Once you have identified yourself, you will see the services and available appointment times included in your agreement.

  • Pihlajalinna Terveyssovellus Application: The Terveyssovellus Application is your gateway to all Pihlajalinna services. Depending on your employer’s occupational health agreement, you may also have access to video and chat appointments, the Mielen Huoli service, and prescription renewals. Please check service availability with your employer.

  • By phone: Check with your employer first whether occupational health appointments are booked via Pihlajalinna customer service or via Nurse Services, where calls are answered by healthcare professionals. Pihlajalinna’s nationwide customer service number is 010 312 010.

The easiest way to cancel your appointment is via the Pihlajalinna Terveyssovellus App or MyPihlajalinna online service. If needed, you can also call customer service at 010 312 010.

Appointments can be cancelled free of charge no later than 24 hours before the scheduled time. For later cancellations or no-shows, we reserve the right to charge the full price of the booked service. Please note that many employers pass this cost on to the employee.

You can reschedule by cancelling your existing appointment and booking a new one. The easiest way to do this is via the Pihlajalinna Terveyssovellus App or logging into the MyPihlajalinna service.

If online booking is not included in your employer’s agreement, you can also contact our customer service at 010 312 010.

  • Call-back request to your occupational health nurse: Book a call-back via the Pihlajalinna Terveyssovellus App or online booking.

  • Call-back request to another professional (e.g. discussion of laboratory results with the treating doctor): Book via online booking (not available in all occupational health agreements) or call our customer service at 010 312 010. When visiting a medical centre, arrange care-related call-backs (such as labortarory results) with your treating doctor during your visit or via the medical centre’s customer service.

  • You can submit a prescription renewal request to a physician via the Pihlajalinna Terveyssovellus App, if this service is included in your employer’s occupational health agreement.

  • You can also request a renewal during a doctor's appointment.

Please note that a doctor can only continue medication if sufficient information is available regarding the condition, treatment plan and follow-up (e.g. home blood pressure measurements).

Book your appointment according to the instructions you have received. You can book the appointment by requesting a call-back from your occupational health nurse via the Pihlajalinna Terveyssovellus App, or book the appointment as instructed by your employer.

  • The scope of your occupational health agreement and the annually updated action plan are available in a location defined by your employer. Often this means the intranet or a similar place that is accessible by all employees.

  • In the Pihlajalinna Terveyssovellus App, you can see which appointments and services are included in your occupational health agreement.

  • Check your employer’s guidelines regarding sick leave practices. The guidelines specify when you can be absent with supervisor's approval and when a medical certificate is required.

  • Pihlajalinna Occupational Health always recommends discussing the situation with your supervisor when work ability is at risk. Regardless of treatment or medical certificate, your occupational health team supports you with work ability related matters.

  • Sick leave certificates are issued based on medical assessment and the nature of the illness during nurse services, remote appointments or in-person visits.

The Remote Care Path is a digital service that gives you access to a healthcare professional via chat. The service is not included in all occupational health agreements, so please check availability with your employer.

How to access the service:

  • Pihlajalinna Terveyssovellus App: Go to the Visit us remotely tab where you'll see the remote appointments included in your occupational healthcare. Choose your appointment type and follow the instructions.

  • Pihlajalinna website: Log in as an occupational health customer in the online booking. You’ll find the Remote Care Path link under services included in your agreement.

What happens in the Remote Care Path:

  • The care path always starts with a digital assessment of care needs, followed by a nurse chat appointment.

  • Follow the instructions provided. Completing the assessment carefully helps ensure high-quality care.

  • Chat appointments are handled in order of arrival. If needed, you may be transferred to a physician chat, invited to a video appointment, or booked for an in-person visit at a Pihlajalinna medical centre.
